I didn’t follow the traditional path—and for a long time, I thought that meant I didn’t belong.
I didn’t always fit into corporate environments. I’ve been pushed out, overlooked, and told—directly and indirectly—that I wasn’t the “right fit.” But it was never about capability. It was about being different.
And yet, I stayed. Because I love this profession.
I love the problem-solving, the impact, the relationships, and the freedom it can create. I love the satisfaction of a job well done. I love the clients I get to serve. And I love the life this career has allowed me to build.
Over time, I realized something powerful: there isn’t one path in accounting. There are many.
And when I stopped trying to fit into someone else’s version of success, I built my own.
